Physical Properties of Lepidolite

Lepidolite is a beautiful purple mica mineral that forms in layers. It contains lithium and is somewhat fragile. It often forms with other stones like pink tourmaline. While it comes in various colors including pink, yellow and white, it's mostly know for its purple range.

A Stone of Transition and Calm

Lepidolite assists in making difficult transitions more smooth as well as calming the emotions that arise through such transitions as a relationship breakup, a move or job change.

This mineral can be also be used to bring calm to an area. Crystal expert and author Melody recommends achieving this effect by gridding your environment with it. You can do this by placing lepidolite in the corners of a room, house or office or by burying stones in the perimeters of your property after meditating with them on your intention of calm and order.

Healing Properties of Lepidolite

Purple stones are often touted as being good for stress and depression. Lepidolite is no exception. Although it may not work as well with depression caused by trauma like amethyst or sugilite will, this stone brings feelings of peace and emotional stability to an over stressed mind.

According to Melody, this stone also aids in digestion and with problems that cause tight muscles and leg cramps. It's also used to help promote restful sleep and shield against nightmares by sleeping with it placed near the pillow.

Magical Uses and Chakra Associations

Lepidolite corresponds to the third-eye, throat, heart and crown chakras which are part of the body's energetic system and relate to different physical, mental, emotional and spiritual aspects of life. Lepidolite can be used with these chakras in the following ways:

  • Third eye: To increase psychic awareness.
  • Crown: To open yourself to the more spiritual aspects of life.
  • Heart: To aid in self-love.
  • Throat: To facilitate honesty with oneself and others.

To do this, either meditate with the stone on the corresponding area of the body or hold it in your nondominant hand and meditate or pray on the healing aspects you're interested in. With stones sometimes it's good to listen with your inner ear on what they have to tell you before you mentally program your own will into them.

This mineral can be of use during magic and ritual aimed at increasing psychic ability and can be combined with astrological, aromatherapy and elemental correspondences that enhance intuition. Or you can add it to candle magic rituals by placing a charged stone on your altar near your dressed and charged candle.

More Spiritual and Metaphysical Properties

This stone can be used on the third-eye and crown chakras to help with astral travel. Healers can use it during crystal or energy work sessions to help detect energy blockages in the body. Reiki practitioners may use this to enhance a healing session, especially if they know their clients are suffering from stress or depression.

Lepidolite aids in raising the overall energies of a place or person to a higher spiritual level. It also slightly blocks negativity but not as strongly as some other stones like those in the black color range.
